Local history
Local history study in Maple.
On Tuesday, Maple children were lucky enough to be given a tour round the village of Finmere by Mr Kerford-Byrnes (aka Grandad!) We learned SO much about Finmere's history, and touched on topics such as royal visits, window taxes, building techniques and pub fires! We enjoyed hearing about the background to the places we know well, such as Queen Victoria's jubilee tree, the church and the village hall. The children were extremely sensible and respectful and asked some thoughtful and interesting questions. Well done Maple and thanks Mr. Kerford-Byrnes!
